Communication Between Home and School:

In order to communicate the events in our classroom, your child will be bringing home a Daily Communication Folder. The purpose of this folder is to share information as well as to celebrate your child's accomplishments. The left pocket of the folder will contain items that need to be returned to school. It may include items such as classroom notes, math homework, and book orders. The right pocket of the folder will contain your child's work from that day or week for you to review and keep at home.

This is an excellent opportunity for your child to share what they are learning in first-grade. Please note any comments written on the papers. These comments will communicate if your child needs further practice with a particular skill. If you have any questions about the folder, please contact me.

This folder will need to be returned the next school day. Have fun learning about your child's first grade experience!

Welcome to Room 15!

Parents, please make sure your children are being safe on the Internet and you are aware of their actions. It is awesome if kids are having the time to work on the Internet at home but please be cautious as to what they are doing and if they are spending their time wisely on appropriate sites while on the computer.

Thank you,

Mrs. Troyer

Birthdays:

Birthdays are celebrated at school! Your child is welcome to bring treats for the class if they would like to.

No peanuts / tree nuts, as well as all products manufactured in facilities or processed on equipment where nuts may be used. Thank you for your help and understanding.

We have 21 students in our classroom.

I also ask that birthday invitations not be distributed at school unless your child has invited the whole class. As discreet as children try to be with invitations someone always seems to feel left out or have their feelings hurt because they were not invited to a party. We ask that parents be sensitive to this and send invitations via the mail.

If your child has a summer birthday we will celebrate their special day in the month of May. I will send a note home ahead of time indicating which day your child's birthday will be celebrated on!
