❓Did you know that when LEGO first launched its bricks in 1973, they proudly advertised that you could build over 1,000,000 different creations using just six basic 2×4 bricks? 🧱✨ Decades later, a professor at the University of Copenhagen dug deeper and discovered there were actually over nine million possible combinations when you allow for sideways building and more complex connections! 🤯🔍 💭 Inspired by that same spirit of creativity, our third grade mathematicians took on a challenge of their own: How many different combinations can you make using five one-inch pattern blocks laid side by side? 🟧🟧🟧🟧🟧 The total wasn’t quite in the millions 😄 — but the collaboration, strategic thinking, and perseverance were absolutely priceless! 🧠🤝💡 We love watching math come to life through curiosity, hands-on exploration, and teamwork! 👏📚✨

Our third graders put their creativity and problems-solving skills to the test as they explored the world of engineering through a hands-on paper bridge challenge. Using only paper and their imaginations, students worked together to design and construct bridges, strong enough to hold a whole bunch of pennies.
