📸 Teamwork + Math = Success! Our 3rd grade students had a blast working together during a lively Math Review Jeopardy game on Friday 💡Teams collaborated, discussed strategies, and celebrated their problem-solving skills—all while reviewing key math concepts. Who says learning can't be fun?

We had an awesome day yesterday at North Ridge Elementary- the W-SR Area United Way Day of Caring - was an AMAZING day to be a Go-Hawk! Thank you to Paul Cheville from the City of Waverly, Jon Elsamiller from Elsamiller Electric, Jen Wells and her team from Wells Hollow, Kim Tiedt from Tiedt’s Nursery, Jess Meier from the North Ridge Staff, and staff from Nestle for the great job they did leading our students and school on several service projects. Students from North Ridge and the W-SR Middle School planted trees, plants, and bushes, landscaped, pulled weeds, and learned how to correctly plant and care for the plants. They also learned the added value plants and trees have to the environment, and the value of helping others. The students were outstanding, and the leadership of the adults was 2nd to none. Thank you to Elsamiller Electric for prepping our statue site with lighting; we were then able to create a beautifully landscaped area for our Go-Hawk to stand with the Wells Hollow team and the North Ridge student Statue Squad. "Many hands make light work" could not have been truer. These students worked so hard and took a lot of pride in helping out. It is safe to say they had a lot of fun! We are so fortunate to live in such a supportive community!

The students have spoken as to how they want our North Ridge Go-Hawk to look! Local artist, Dan Hatala, is in the process of turning our students' visions into a work of art. The completed fiberglass statue was picked up from the UNI Art Incubator last week and brought to Waverly for the final step in our year-long process. I wonder what those driving by us thought when they saw those large feet sticking out of the back of our truck!! Stay tuned for pictures from our unveiling ceremony, when we have the "Big Reveal" for the students of North Ridge on October 10th! We are so excited to show our Go-Hawk pride!!!

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the cereal drive for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. A special thank you to these two outstanding Go-Hawk leaders for working with Mrs. Poppe to count the boxes each day. We had 87 cereal boxes donated today, which brings the toal to 214. The final collection day will be September 11th, 2025 (which is the day of caring in the W-SR communities). Our goal is to collect 275 boxes of cereal.
