Our students have been on the move with Mileage Club this year, and I couldn’t be more proud of the effort and excitement they bring to the program. Participation is completely optional, yet so many students have chosen to join—and they’re already accomplishing incredible things! Mileage club is a running and walking program that is done only at the noon recess outside on our "track".
Students are setting both long-term goals (for the end of the year) and short-term goals they can celebrate along the way. They encourage one another, cheer on their classmates, and keep me busy recording all those miles. Our Wall of Fame is quickly filling with the miles they’ve walked and run.
A huge thank-you goes to Ms. Kim and Ms. Jen, and Mrs. Reuss, our amazing volunteer helpers. On the days I’m at my other school, they keep the club running smoothly and motivate students to give their best effort.
You can spot our Mileage Club members proudly wearing their colorful token “feet” on chains as they work toward the ultimate prize—earning their Mileage Club shirts. They receive a "token foot" every five miles completed!
