📚🌎 Mrs. Reuscher’s 3rd graders are diving into history as they learn all about Immigration and Ellis Island! 🇺🇸
Students took a virtual interactive tour of Ellis Island, making ten different stops to discover what immigrants experienced on their journey to America. They read to each other, discussed the challenges and hopes of new arrivals, and explored Ellis Island using Google Earth for a closer look.
To wrap up the experience, each student wrote a pretend letter as an immigrant to a loved one back home — sharing what they experienced at Ellis Island. ❤️✉️

Thank you to everyone who joined us for McTeacher’s Night at McDonald’s. Our teachers enjoyed serving families, and it was great to see so many students and community members gathering together.
McDonald’s will be donating a portion of the evening’s proceeds back to our school, and we truly appreciate your support of Prairie West.
Please enjoy the photos of our teachers and families from the event.

Last Friday was all about celebrating our wonderful boss, Mrs. Westendorf, for Boss's Day. We truly cannot thank you enough for the incredible impact you’ve had on our lives. You’re so much more than a boss — you’re a leader who inspires, a mentor who guides, and a supporter who always believes in us. Your kindness, strength, and encouragement make every day brighter and every challenge easier to face. Thank you for leading with both your heart and your wisdom. We’re so grateful for you today and always.

In Library, students have enjoyed a variety of STEM activities after checking out their books.

Halloween is near but our kids have nothing to fear. There’s nowhere safer to be when Super Cooper leads story-time in the library!

A big THANK YOU to the Waverly Fire Department for bringing the Smokehouse to our school! Prairie West students learned all about fire safety with a great hands-on experience that taught life-saving lessons in a fun and memorable way. We're so grateful for our local fire department!
